Call to Worship “Worthy, Your Are Worthy”

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. Amazing love, now flowing down from hands and feet that were nailed to the tree; as grace flows down and covers me. It covers me, it covers me, it covers me, and covers me. (repeat) “Grace Flows Down”

It covers me, it covers me, it covers me, and covers me. “Grace Flows Down”

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now I’m found, Was blind but now I see.

’Twas Grace that taught my hear to fear, And Grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear, The hour I first believed.

My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me.

And like a flood His mercy reigns, Unending love, Amazing Grace.

The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures.

My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me.

And like a flood His mercy reigns, Unending love, Amazing Grace.

My chains are gone, I’ve been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me.

And like a flood His mercy reigns, Unending love, Amazing Grace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine.

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:12-17 (NKJV)

“Grace is God’s freely given, unmerited favor toward the sinful and failing, the expression of forgiving, redeeming, restoring love toward the unworthy.”

I. SAVING GRACE

Verse 1 Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (HCSB)

II. JUSTIFYING GRACE

Verse 2 T’was grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2 (NKJV)

III. GROWING GRACE

Verse 3 Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; ‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far. And grace will lead me home.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18 (HCSB)

IV. COMFORTING GRACE

Verse 4 The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NKJV)

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Psalms 27:13 (NKJV)

V. DYING GRACE

Verse 5 Yea when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.

What we do see is Jesus, who "for a little while was made lower than the angels" and now is "crowned with glory and honor" because he suffered death for us. Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone in all the world. Hebrews 2:9 (NLT)

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it. Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)

VI. REWARDING GRACE

Verse 6 The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine, But God who called me here below, Will be forever mine.

That having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:7 (NKJV)

“I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” I have decided to follow Jesus I have decided to follow Jesus I have decided to follow Jesus No turning back, no turning back.

“I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” Tho' none go with me I still will follow Tho' none go with me I still will follow No turning back, no turning back.

“I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” My cross I'll carry 'till I see Jesus My cross I'll carry 'till I see Jesus My cross I'll carry 'till I see Jesus No turning back, no turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me The world behind me, the cross before me No turning back, no turning back. “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus”
