2 Contractor ??? A construction contractor is a very complicated career. This requires the knowledge of architectural design, building codes, zoning regulations and basic construction elements. When people call a contractor, they want something remodeled or rebuild; like a house, store, mall, hotels, and other commercial projects.

3 Responsibilities -Provides engineering vehicles and tools - Provides self service - Hires specialized subcontractors to perform all or portions of the construction work - Apply building permit -Securing property - Managing personally on site - Recycles construction waste

4 Working Conditions -Discuss building plans or changes with architects, clients and other trades people -Calculate the amount of materials required -Estimate the cost of jobs -Hire and supervise trades people such as electricians and plumbers -Organize details of contracts -Arrange building consents and notify building and plumbing inspectors of work that needs inspection -Construct, alter and repair buildings -Ensure building standards and correct health and safety practices are met -Make sure that the finished building meets required standards -Keep accounts and collect payments.

5 Degree Needed Degree Level - Bachelor's degree for management positions Degree Field -Construction management Experience -No work experience for construction laborers, five years of experience in the field for construction managers Key Skills -Initiative, management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of state building codes and insurance requirements Additional Requirements - Reliable transportation

6 Job Out Look Many construction managers work from a main office, but most work out of a field office at the construction site, where they monitor the project and make daily decisions about construction activities The need to meet deadlines and respond to emergencies often requires long hours I would love to find a job in Denver, Colorado because every other year there is a new building added to their city and it’s a beautiful place its live in. Also in Denver there a lot of more space to build for years. Employment of construction managers is projected to grow 16 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
