3 The world famous Oktoberfest this is what Munich most famous for festival of Beer a 16 day long party surprisingly Oktoberfest doesn´t take place in October but September

4 The world famous Oktoberfest consists of 11 beer tents, traditional Bavarian food, rides and games each year millions of visitors from all over the world come to Munich specifically for the „Wies´n“

5 The world famous Oktoberfest up to 7 mio. visitors from OUTSIDE of Germany over 62.295 Maßes (1 liter) consumed each year 500.000 grilled chickens consumed each year

6 Origins of the Oktoberfest Oct. 12th 1810 Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese already back then it was a 5 day celebration for the people, not just the royalty 1896 turns into a true beerfest, 1818 first rides were added because of its origins most Germans choose to wear traditional clothing („Tracht“)

7 The English Garden world´s biggest public garden naturally grown, without people´s treatment it is very versatile as every activity can and is undertaken here It is the home of many meadows, playgrounds, statues, monuments and beergardens

8 Beergardens and the Chinese Tower the Munich population spends its summers in beergardens one of the most famous beergardens is the Chinese Tower in the English Garden (picture) live oompah bands play from its interior donated by China in 1789, so almost as old as America

9 Munich Center (historic district) the innermost area of Munich is its oldest, and has a lot of history it contains the Frauenkirche, Munich‘s Cathedral (picture 1), its Courthouse, Marienplatz and the renowned Hofbräuhaus

10 Königsplatz with the Glyptothek king Ludwig the first was a big admirer of Greece which is why he built 3 temples in one spot representing their culture so many temples in such close proximity cannot be found elsewhere in the world

12 The Hofgarten was the Royalties city residence gave one of the Munich Rotary Clubs its name

13 Theatinerkirche this church was a gift from the Italian King to the Bavarian King in his marriage to Italian Princess and the birth of their first child in the background you can see the German Alps

16 Laptop and Lederhosen Munich is traditional and historical city, unique in its combination of old and new, lakes and mountains, relaxed beergarden-weekends and highstrung days at the offices; it offers anything, both in and out of the ordinary
