10.  225 – 70 million years ago  Age of the REPTILES  First birds started to evolve.  End was marked by extinction of the dinosaurs  The asteroid hit caused a major climate change.

12.  Age of the mammals  Began 65 million to current time  Flowering plants were now the most common plant life.  Many mountain ranges formed  Alps in Europe and Himalayas in India; Rocky Mountains in the USA
