3 TITLE I and LLP Our goal is to work together to form a unified experience for all of our students. We base our curriculum on the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Title One supports intervention programs, parent communication, and additional school resources.

4 How Title I Works  Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 6301 et seq.) is amended to read as follows:  TITLE I — IMPROVING THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF THE DISADVANTAGED  The purpose of Title I under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.  A Title I school has qualified to receive federal funding under this act.

5 How are we identified as a Title I School?  Title I schools are based on percent of students eligible for free and reduced lunch  All schools in Tift County are Title I schools  ALL students at LLP benefit from Title I funds

7 How do we spend our Title I dollars? Additional staff including academic coaches! Professional Development for classroom teachers

8 How do we spend our Title I dollars? Parent Liaison: Mrs. Melinda Howell Retired teacher with 30 years of classroom experience! She is located in room 411 with many parent resources for you!

9 Len Lastinger Primary’s College and Career ready Performance Index (CCRPI) score is 66.9  Under the ESEA waiver, Len Lastinger Primary School is designated as a Title I Focus school. This determination was determined using the following criteria:  The three year average of Achievement Gap Scores  LLP is currently under federal or state requirements to offer a Flexible Learning Program or other tutoring sessions. We are in the process of writing this plan and will notify all parents upon completion.

22 Right to Know Qualifications  You have the right to request the qualifications of your child’s teacher and any instructional paraprofessional that works with your child.  To learn the qualifications of these staff, make an appointment with the principal.

23 Teacher Qualifications Highly qualified teachers: State certified/ licensing examination and BA degree and For new teachers demonstrate knowledge-teaching skills and pass rigorous tests or For experienced teachers- rigorous test or state evaluations

24 Paraprofessional Qualifications To be highly qualified, instructional paraprofessionals must have: Completed two years of higher educational study, OR Associates degree, OR Formal assessment
