Digital Camera & Digital Technology Digital technology has changed over the years and has greatly improved it self. Government have created spy satellites, the governments use of technology has advanced the science of digital imaging. In 1972 Texas Instrument patented a film less electronic camera. The first commercial electronic still camera was Sony Mavica produced by Sony in 1981. The Mavica can not take credit for the first camera because it was a camera that took video freezing frames. Kodak was the first worldwide standard for defining color in the digital environment of computers and computer peripherals in 1990.

Louis Daguerre partnered up with Niepce to improve what he developed. In 1839 shortly after Niepce death Daguerre developed a faster more effective method of photograph and named it the Daguerreotype. His process fixed the images onto a sheet of silver and coated it in iodine, creating a light sensitive surface. When exposed to light for a few minutes the image would appear painted by light and this created a lasting image. Witch he latter sells to the French government and it becomes very popular in 1850s.

Camera Definition A camera is a lightproof object, with a lens, that captures incoming light and directs the light and resulting image towards film aka the optical camera or the imaging device, aka the digital camera. All cameras technology is based on the optics first discovered by aristotle.in the 1887s Adolf Miethe and Jhames Gaedicke used lycopodium powder in early flash power.

George Eastman  In 1884- George Eastman invents a transparent and flexible, based photographic film and cameras that can use them. He work for Kodak making it possible to have hand held cameras.  You would take 100 pictures and the camera would be full you would send the camera back to Kodak and they would send you back the camera with new film in it and the photo the old film had on it.  He also made the first transparent roll of film which made it possible for Thomas Edison's motion picture camera.

Kodak  Since the mid 1970s Kodak has invented several solid state images sensors that converted light to digital pictures for professional and for regular people.  In 1986, Kodak made seven products available to the public for recording, storing, manipulating, transmitting and printing electronic still video images.

Parts of a still camera.  The lens is just a piece of glass or plastic, It takes the beaming light bouncing off an object and redirect them so they come together in a real picture. The film makes a chemical record of the pattern of light and collects it all on a strip of plastic. When that strip is exposed to light it undergoes a chemical reaction, when you develop the film it goes throw another chemical change.  The camera its self is there to hold everything together in order for there to be a place to put the lens and film at.  A still camera is made out of four basic parts. An optical element witch is the lens, a chemical element witch is the film, and a mechanical element witch is the camera its self. All of these components combined together create a very crisp record of a recognizable

 In 1814- Joseph Nicephore Niepce achieves the first photographic image with a camera obscure, but it did not last long and need to be in light for 8 hours. People only used the obscure for viewing and or drawing. Sun prints were used to take photos by letting light draw the picture could also be called heliographs.  He would place an engraving onto a metal plate coated with bitumen, and then expose it to the light. There were shadow areas that blocked out the light to give it the capability of creating spaces where the chemical would not react with the sun light. The down fall of all the hard work is that once the engraving is placed in the solvent the picture would only last for seconds
