2 Vocabulary 1.Resume ( 이력서 ) or CV- a document which shows your work and education history and briefly talks about the skills and responsibilities of each job you did. 2.Objective ( 목적 )- a goal that you want to reach, what you expect to do. 3.Reference ( 추천인 )- a person that can describe your character or work habit. (Professor, manager, teacher,…) 4.Certificate ( 자격증 )- an official document that shows you have completed a class successfully 5.Scholarship ( 장학금 )- money given to you for studying, to pay for school or classes

3 Resume / CV Format Resumes are very important for easily showing what work you have done in the past. Employers use them to learn about your experience and also how organised you are! Your cover letter was a short introduction and general overview of your skills, your resume is more detailed. If you make a clean and interesting looking resume, it can really grab the attention of the employer.

6 Sections Contact information Objective- statement talking about what exactly you want to do. Education- where you have graduated from Skills/Certificates- list your technical, language and other skills. List any certificates you have. Work experience/internships Scholarships References (optional)

7 Objective The only long writing on your resume is your objective. It is your ‘goal’ for the job you are applying for. Bad: Seeking a challenging position with a progressive company that will offer opportunity for growth and advancement. Good: Graduate of ABC College's speech communication program seeking a position in training and development. Hands-on experience in classroom teaching, corporate training and communication research.

8 Objective Content Remember you wrote ‘how you will use your skills’ in your cover letter? This is similar. Use your education and skill as a basis to make a goal. 1.Say who you are 2.Clearly say what your goal is 3.Give a little bit of your most important experience A recent graduate in Food and Nutrition interested in utilising my skills to create new menus. Experience in writing menus and cooking for large crowds.
