2. Introduction The organising information process prepares the data for use by other information processes. It does this by arranging and representing the data in a format suited by the needs of the subsequent information processes

3. Example When text is entered into a word processor it is organised by arranging into a string of individual characters where each character is represented as a binary code (commonly using an extension of the ASCII system). The data is still the same characters, words, sentences and paragraphs that the user entered; it has just been organised into a suitable format for the word processor.

4. Organising Organising takes place just before, just after or even as an integral part of another information process. This is particularly the case in regard to collecting, displaying, storing and retrieving and transmitting and receiving. During and after collecting, data must be organised to modify its format to suit the requirements of subsequent information processes.
