13 FREE!!! Dobyns-Bennett Athletic Physicals for the 2015-2016 school year SATURDAY – MAY 16th, 2015 @ 8:00 AM (BE THERE AT 8:00 AM!) Wellmont Outpatient Therapy Center West Stone Drive @ King Giant Plaza ► Pick up a “Physical Packet” from the Athletics Office or Athletic Training Room in the Field House. ► Have your “Physical Packet” filled out/signed by your parent/guardian BEFORE you come for the physical. If you have Asthma or Severe Food/Latex Allergies, additional forms will be needed/please see one of the school nurses.

15 Early voting will take place May 7 th – 14 th at the Civic Auditorium. Election Day is May 19 th. Students please park on the D-B side lot for these dates as we expect to have quite a few citizens in and out during this time. Also, no one is allowed to park in the grass over at Legion Park.

D-B Students Compete in the 18th Annual First Congressional District Art Competition Ten D-B art students participated in “An Artistic Discovery,” a Congressional art competition. These students represented D-B in the First Congressional District. The exhibit was hosted by Congressman Phil Roe. Fifteen high schools were represented in the competition.

20 Sam and Kathy Darden Founders Scholarship Criteria: accepted and made deposit to the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, full time student for 15-16 school year, minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. 22 Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship Award: $1,000 Eligibility: Current or former athlete at the high school or college level and must be a current college student or high school senior entering college. How to Enter: Write a 400-500 word essay describing how the lessons learned through playing sports have positively impacted you as you pursue your college education. 23 Summer Camps Deadline: May 30th Camps are held on Milligan College Campus. Students are taught by Milligan faculty, coaches and alumni Summer Camps are available to students ages 14-18 in Music, Digital Media, Theatre, Basketball, Cheer, Swim, Tennis, and Youth in Ministry. 25 MTSU Mechatronics Engineering Scholarship Award: $10,000 per year for 3 years and enhanced activities such as a trip to Berlin, Germany For: New freshman Mechatronics Engineering majors at MTSU, US Citizenship, full-time student, high school GPA 3.0 or better, ACT Math subscore 24 or better, demonstrate financial aid, willingness to participate in the MT cohort program. 34 D-B’S TARDY / ABSENCE POLICY REMINDER Please remember that participation in prom and graduation ceremony are tied directly to attendance. Students who accrue instances of tardiness or absenteeism greater than 10% of the time in any one class will be ineligible for these activities.
