2. 2 John 5:1-6 (MSG) Soon another Feast came around and Jesus was back in Jerusalem. Near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem there was a pool, in Hebrew called Bethesda, with five alcoves.

3. 3 John 5:1-6 (MSG) Hundreds of sick people—blind, crippled, paralyzed—were in these alcoves. One man had been an invalid there for thirty- eight years.

4. 4 John 5:1-6 (MSG) When Jesus saw him stretched out by the pool and knew how long he had been there, he said, "Do you want to get well?"

7. 7 John 5:5-7 (NIV) 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

8. 8 John 5:5-7 (NIV) 7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
