10. LET’S TRY SOME “TRANSLATING” Students will get a partner and sit back to back with one person facing the homework wall and one person facing the book wall. Each person should have a dry erase board, marker and eraser. Each pair should be able to see the Smart board. They should not be able to see their partners dry erase board. Each student will write down the 5 translated algebraic expressions from set 1. The pair will switch boards to be graded. Give praises or constructive criticism. Switch back and try set 2.

11. BEFORE WE “TRANSLATE” Let’s try a little experiment. Sit back to back. Draw a sun in the top left corner of your dry erase board. Add some waves to the bottom of the board. Draw 3 fish. Add 2 birds. Draw 1 additional object to make your picture unique. Do you think everyone will have the same picture? Check your picture with your back to back partner. Now we are ready to try to get the same expressions! Number your board from one to five.
