2 Wholesale market- the instrument of the country’s and the region’s policy Through wholesale markets, local and central governments are able to create the policy of sustainable development The concentration of wholesale trade is one place means lower distribution costs, lower wholesale and retail prices It is a stable workplace for people working for the companies operating within the wholesale market It is a guarantee of the future operation of markets, retail market places, small shops and street points of sale within the city It is also a future point of sale for small local producers, wholesale companies, etc. who are not able to compete with supermarkets

The local authority or the government provides financial resources to fund the external wholesale market infrastructure (access roads, power lines, rain and sanitary collectors, etc.)

9 What forms of WM? 1. State owned and built 2. PPP – private public partnership State land and private operator 3. JV – joint stock company Private and state capital (land?) 4. National State WM Company (or Agency) This invests in WM and ‘keeps shares for farmers or traders)
