3 Why is it Important Water is important for heath 780 million people lack access to an improved water source; approximately one in nine people. 3.41 million people die each year from water, sanitation and hygiene-related causes each year. An American taking a five-minute shower uses more water than the average person in a developing country slum uses for an entire day.

5 Definition of Dehydration It means your body does not have enough water that it needs If it becomes severe it can become life- threatening

6 Causes of Dehydration Can be caused by losing too much fluid Not drinking enough fluid Or both

7 Plants Will Die without Fresh Water Plants need water to survive. Plants need water to grow. Without plants there is no green chlorophyll.

12 Solutions Conservation Ways to conserve water - Use it wisely - Recycle water by removing the non-drinkable substances from salt water - Don’t leave the hose running - Take shorter showers Desalination -Refers to any several processes that remove some amount of salt from saltwater. -The significance is that Humans cannot drink salt water because high concentrations of salt interfere with nerve conduction and are hypertonic, meaning that they sap water out of the cells.
