17  Created in April 2011 with international organizations to establish a new system in Libya that cares for survivors of violence.  It is a governmental organization under ministry of health, social affairs and with collaboration with ministry of justice.  Struggle to keep it going without funds, without clear laws, with a failed judicial system.

18 Implementation of a structured and well organized program for gender- based violence, with international guidance, to reduce the associated morbidity and mortality that results and stabilize the society. Our mission: 1-Provision of strategic measures for prevention, protection, medical, psychological, and social support, and establishing a referral mechanism for survivors. 2-Promotion of community awareness through culturally sensitive campaigns and partnerships with civil society organizations. 3-Working in accordance with medico-legal and socio-cultural aspects to ensure service availability and accessibility, confidentiality, and protection of victims and their human rights. 4. Capacity building programs for the committee and all other actors, and partners who will be involved in implementing this program in Libya. 5. Opening channels for partnership with women groups across the globe to stop violence against women, and advocate women rights.
