1 The Mentor Network at Salisbury University What is it? How does it work? What can it do for me? How can I access it?

2 What is it?  The Salisbury University Mentor Network consists of over 600 SU Alumni who have volunteered to help you in a variety of ways related to your career.  It is one of the best services offered to SU students!

3 How does it work?  You can search the Mentor Database on e-Recruiting according to various different fields such as:  Undergraduate Major  Undergraduate Activities (Sororities/Fraternities, Clubs, Athletics, etc.)  Job  Industry  Location  Type of advice/help you are looking for  After you pick a search field, a number of Mentors meeting your criteria will appear on the screen. Choose the Mentors which best suit your needs and contact them.

4 What can it do for me?  By utilizing the Mentor Network, you can find help in the following areas:  Choosing a Major  Internship Information  Career Advising  Job Search Assistance  Resume Review  Practice/Mock Interviews  Job Shadowing  Networking  Industry Information  Relocation Information  The Alumni who are in this database have volunteered to help you begin building your future.

5 How can I access it?  Log-in to e-Recruiting.com http://salisbury.erecruiting.com/er/security/login.jsp- Select “Mentors” from the gray toolbar at the top of the page  -Search for Mentors by Location, Job, Industry, Major etc. on the right side of the page  -When you find a mentor of interest click “Save This Mentor” and you will be given access to their contact information.  You will use 1 “token” for each Mentor you select. You are allowed 10 “tokens” a month. If you need more contact Career Services for help.

6 Some Mentor Quick-Facts  There are currently 42 active accounting Mentors listed  There are 56 mentors who are employed in the education field  SU Mentors are employed with companies across the country. For example, there are over 100 Mentors who are located in MD, 25 in NY, 21 in NJ, 22 in DE, 16 in PA, and 10 all the way over in CA  Over 500 Mentors nationwide want to help you find the right career, and 122 have volunteered to host a student at their work site
