2 Anti Social personality disorder is considered a form of madness in which the individual exhibits destructive behaviors, while maintaining rational thought. ANTI-SOCIAL PERSONALITY DISORDER

3 Impaired moral reasoning Destructive Impulse Control Loss of ability to love Little to no regard for others feelings Appropriate to be diagnosed as early as 15 years old Charming, Attractive personalities ASSOCIATED FEATURES

4 SYMPTOMS The signs and symptoms include: Lack of concern regarding society’s rules and expectations. Repeated violations of the rights of others. Unlawful behavior. Lack of regard for the truth In parents, neglect or abuse of children. Lack of a steady job. Frequent job changes through quitting and/or being fired Tendencies toward physical aggression and extreme irritability. DSM IV-TR CRITERIA

5 This problem is much more prevalent in males than females. If present in females it usually starts during puberty. Behaviors usually diminish after age 30. DSM-IV-TR CRITERIA

6 Adult antisocial behavior is not to be confused with the topic at hand. this refers to illegal or immoral behavior for a criminal ADULT ANTI PERSONALITY DISORDER

7 BIOLOGICAL Various brain abnormalities are cited as possible causes of anti-social personality disorder. This includes problems in the prefrontal lobes of the brain an area involved in morals in one actions those who have this disorder are subject to it. ENVOIRMENT Anti social behaviors depending on family and school life it is possible to develop disorder at young age due to separation of parents. Adopted children are subject to and more likely to develop this disorder. ETIOLOGY

8 Typically affects about 4.5% of males and about.8% of females. More prevalent in boys than girls. Is considred one of the most troubling disorders to society. PREVALENCE

9 TREATMENTS As you can see people with this disorder don’t change easily the most beneficial treatment would be extensive therapy but most with this disorder don’t go only by being issued by a court system will they be willing Even then the results can have little effect but if results are successful the subject feels guilt and remorse and will try to change. TREATMENTS

10 People under the age of 40 account for 66% of crime rates but commit 83% of violent crimes about 1% of all prisoners are over 65 with diagnosis PROGNOSIS
