The Lonely Planet guide describes Bahrain as "an excellent introduction to the Gulf“ because of its Arab heritage and the reputation that it used to enjoy as safe and modern. Tourists are attracted to Bahrain for the weather, unique ambience diving and water sports, local culture and the relaxed friendly atmosphere. Bahrain also enjoys a liberal social climate, good shopping and minimal travel restrictions. 201400027

4 Bahrain Tourist Attractions Al Fateh Mosque popularly known as the Al-Fateh Islamic Center, built in 1987 by Sheikh Isa ibn Salman Al Khalifa, adorns a place among the largest mosques all over the world and is the biggest worshipping place in Bahrain with a capacity to accommodate more than 7000 worshippers at a time. Manama Souq is one of the famous tourist spot in Bahrain. Manama souq is the major market place in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. This is a very lively market with many shoppers and traders offer their products to the customers. This shopping paradise houses shops trading all types of commodities. The traders from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt and other countries are also doing business along with local Bahrain traders. The Barbar temple, as name suggests located at the village of Barbar in Bahrain, is an archeologically important site. It is considered as the remains of the ancient civilization Dilmun. The archeological teams excavated many temples in Barbar and are the specimens of the ancient culture in this place. 3 temples are discovered in 1954 by a Danish team and further 2 temples dating back to 3000 BC were identified later. The Al Khamis Mosque is an ancient mosque in Bahrain and has the fame as the first mosque in Bahrain. It was established during the period of the Umayyad caliph Umar II. 201400027
