1 Child Abuse Reporting Procedures As a PPS employee, you are a mandated child abuse reporter by Oregon State Law

2 If you suspect… Physical Abuse with or without injuries Sexual Abuse Neglect Emotional Abuse Sexual Exploitation Threat of Harm…

3 … You MUST report the facts to the Principal or the Principal’s designee immediately. This is NOT something with which you have a choice.

4 Child Abuse Hotline 503- 731-3100 You and the Principal or Principal’s designee should call the Child Abuse Hotline jointly. If that is not possible, it is your obligation to confirm that the report was made. If you report suspected child abuse directly to the Hotline, you MUST also notify the Principal in person or in writing.

5 Do NOT Contact Parents

6 Student-to-Student Abuse Student-to-student abuse is defined as physical abuse of a student but not mutual combat; it may include the use of a weapon and sexual assault. If you witness or suspect student-to- student abuse…

8 Child Abuse Hotline 503- 731-3100 It is best if you and the Principal or Principal’s designee call the Hotline together. If you can’t, it is still your responsibility to confirm that the report was made. If you report suspected child abuse directly to the Hotline, you MUST also notify the Principal in person or in writing that you have done so. Again…
