2 How this works There are 12 questions +1 Bonus question. Every Delegate will participate in every question. A question will be shown on the screen. Delegates have 30 seconds to write down their answer. Every delegate with a correct answer scores a point. The Delegate with the most points wins!

3 Important Note Most of the answers will come from the dramas you just saw. However, there may be some answers found on your handouts in your packet. If you shout out the answer, your committee will get NO points

4 Question 1 During a debate, if you cannot hear, what words must you say?

11 Answers No. Observers are allowed to watch only. They have no power to speak or vote.

12 Question 5 How do you refer to the people who are in charge of the committee? What name do you give them? How do you refer to your fellow delegates?

15 Answer You have finished speaking from the floor, and you are returning to your seat.

16 Question 7: DAILY DOUBLE!! Write down EXACTLY how one asks to vote on the resolution.

17 Answer I make a motion to move on with the voting procedures I move we begin the voting procedure (either are acceptable)

18 Question 8 What is a ‘point of personal privilege’?

19 Answer If something is not right, a delegate can ask for it to be changed – speak louder, speak more clearly, close the window, open the door, etc.

22 Question 10 What is the difference between the ‘floor’ and the ‘house’?

23 Answer The ‘floor’ is where someone speaks; the ‘house’ is the general name for the delegates who are seated.

24 Question 11 What is the difference between a resolution and an amendment?

25 Answer A resolution is the action item from a policy statement; it is what a country wants to do to make the situation better. An amendment is a change to the resolution.

26 Question 12 If your resolution is accepted during your debates in committee, what will you do at the General Assembly?

27 Answer Present a speech to the General Assembly

28 BONUS Question 13 – 2 questions, worth 2 points each!! When will we debate? AND – what is the best way to make the debates fun and effective?
