3 National President: Holly Morgan  Junior at Tennessee Tech University  Member of: –Delta Tau Alpha –Ducks Unlimited –Ag Ambassadors –Lambda Alpha Sigma –Agricultural Business Club –Collegiate 4-H  “ I started riding horses when I was 2, and have been competing ever since. I have done everything from Western Pleasure to Equitation to Cutting to Roping with my horses. I rodeo and compete in other shows local, state, and nation-wide. I cannot wait for the upcoming year and everything it has to offer! ”

5 Midwestern Vice President: Roy Noe  Junior at College of the Ozarks  Major: Agricultural Business; Minor: Technology  “ At College of the Ozarks, I work as a herdsman at the dairy on campus, where I milk Holsteins. I grew up on a beef farm in Kirksville, Missouri where my family and I raise crossbred Angus cattle and grow hay. I love to farm and love being outdoors. My goal after I graduate is to buy a farm in northern Missouri where I can start my own cow/calf operation with my newly wedded wife, Rachel. ”

6 Eastern Vice President: Erica Alexander  Attend Middle Tennessee State University  Major: Agribusiness; Minor: Business Administration  Member of: –Sigma Alpha –Agriculture Council –Collegiate FFA –Delta Tau Alpha  “ In high school I was my FFA chapter ’ s first female president (I ’ m very proud of this achievement), was in the History club, Spanish club, Beta club, DECA, and a few other clubs. Also while I lived in my hometown I helped run rodeos, tractor pulls, and even participated in the North Giles Saddle Club as ringmaster and other positions. ”

7 National Secretary: Sarah Shedenhelm  Junior at Arkansas State University  Major: Pre-Vet.  Member of: –Fellowship for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (V.P.) –ASUMH Ambassador (Historian) –Delta Tau Alpha Chapter Secretary  “ I have an amazingly supportive husband and three children (two dogs and a cat)! I am excited to serve as Secretary for the National DTA Honor Society and I look forward to making lots of new friends in the coming year. ”

8 National Parliamentarian: Rachel Hendrix  Attends Middle Tennessee State University  Major: Plant and Soil Science with a concentration in Ag Education  “ I am originally from the town of Hendersonville, TN, where I live with my family. I did not grow up on a traditional farm, although agriculture was always a part of my life in one way or another. When I went to high school, I joined the local FFA chapter, and participated in several contests over the years, eventually serving as an officer on the local, regional, and state levels. My future plans include graduating in May of 2010, and possibly going on to earn a master's degree in agriculture. I would also like to work either as an agriculture teacher or with UT Extension Service as an agent. I am very honored and excited to be a DTA officer, and am looking forward to the coming year! ”

9 A Note From the President  Hey everyone! I would like to start of by saying that I am thrilled to serve as your National President. I have already started to make a list of what this year has to offer. I would also like to thank Delta Tau Alpha for giving me this opportunity and I hope I can make you all proud. I look forward to working with the above listed National Council, I feel as if this year will be very productive with all the opportunities it has to offer. Holly Morgan, DTA National President.

10 National Convention Wrap Up  The Convention was held March 26-28, 2009.  The National DTA accepted the membership of Ferrum College.  Congratulations to the 2009 Award Winners: –Highest Attendance: Arkansas State Univ. –Highest % Attendance: Abilene Christian Univ. –Corbus Award: Fort Hays State Univ. –Quiz Bowl Winner: Fort Hays State Univ.

11 News From Your Neighbors  As reported, the Arkansas State University is right on schedule for meetings. The Secretary, Sarah Shedenhelm, who is also the National Secretary has reported the minutes and they are preparing for a great year.  They are planning to set up at their Ag Fest held on Sept. 17 th.  They are also discussing fundraiser ideas.  Good luck!

14 Report of Active Membership  Please be sure and have all reports (Chapter Officers and Returning Members) and chapter dues ($20) submitted by November 1 (the date matches that for the fall induction deadline) to maintain active chapter status.  Chapters need to be current in chapter dues for memberships to be processed. 15 National Council Meeting  The National Council will hold a fall meeting in mid to late October. The meeting will be by teleconference.  Please contact the vice president for your region if you have items that you would like the National Council to discuss and bring to the membership at the National Convention.
