13 Accountability The Plymouth Public Schools Unified Arts Department mission is: To motivate student thought and intellectual curiosity; nurture student self-expression, cultural sensitivity, and artistic excellence; encourage and guide student collaboration and leadership for success in the 21st Century society. The Plymouth Public Schools Unified Arts Department mission is: To motivate student thought and intellectual curiosity; nurture student self-expression, cultural sensitivity, and artistic excellence; encourage and guide student collaboration and leadership for success in the 21st Century society.

14 Unified Arts Goals Staff members of the Plymouth Public Schools Unified Arts Department will: meet individual student needs (from the beginner to the artistically and musically talented student); provide a student forum for the development of artistic literacy, practice and refinement of artistic skills; include world music and art throughout history to introduce students to world cultures and our pluralistic society; provide a safe student environment for creative exploration, expression of ideas and aesthetic reflection; deliver an instructional balance of both emerging technologies and traditional techniques; facilitate authentic performance and exhibition experiences for all students; and assist each student in developing and attaining sufficient competence for continued learning in at least one art form.
