6. Solving Proportions  Cross Multiply then Divide 7 = 14 4 n  14 4 = 56  56 ÷ 7 = 8  N = 8

7. Are these True Proportions?  8 = 12 12 8  Check the cross products  8 8 = 64  12 12 = 144  64 does not equal 144, therefore the proportions are not equal

8. Is the proportion true?  2 = 5 10 25  Check the cross products  10 5 = 50  2 25 = 50  The proportion is true!

9. Percent  A ratio that compares a number to 100. 50 is 50% 100
