The number of times a machine multiplies the effort force.

3 Lever MA Formula Lever (any class)
MA lever = distance from fulcrum to effort distance from fulcrum to resistance = Le Lr

4 Wheel and axle MA Formula
MA w&a = radius of wheel = rw radius of axle ra

5 Pulleys MA Formula Fixed pulley: Always 1 (does not change the force, only direction) Moveable Pulley/Block and Tackle = the number of sections of rope that support the object **If the string goes up, count it **If the string goes down, don’t count it

6 Inclined Plane MA Formula
MA inclined plane = length of incline = L height of incline h
