4. New Changes in NLEP Situation 1.A new chain (sahiya) has been establshed to help in smooth running of NLEP 2. More concentration on early new case detection by giving training to sahiya of PHC. 3. Training to M.O’ & PHC>> for correct diagnosis of new cases 4.As leprosy is on the verge of elimination, switching over to DPMR is being made. SCP 4

5. Gaps/Needs Identified 1.Language problem in habitant of hard to reach area (S.T) need IEC in their language 2. Custom stickiness in S.T especially in Phaharia tribes. They are more dependent on taking treatment of their illness by taking local herbs - needs traning of pradhan and local school teachers 3 Complete integration is needed in some district where DLO office is being used an OPD & drug is distributed to cases.
