Bled, Sept. 4, 2004 Technical Specifications http://www.rfp-europe.org Technical Specifications of the ERFP Website Main features of the website are: Modularity and the separation of layout and content. The layout is handled with CSS (style definitions) and HTML templates (position of elements within the page). Multilingual contents and navigation labels are stored in a database. The database system used is MySQL. Content is extracted and placed in the corresponding template position by means of PHP modules. A high degree of modularity enables easy improvement of existing functionality and quick adding of new content (e.g. a new menu item and its corresponding content).

This technology is free and widely spread, which ensures portability and future autonomy of the ERFP Website e.g. in case of relocation.
