3. The Lord, The Almighty God Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. The Hebrew word for “Almighty God” is El-Shaddai. The words “I am the Almighty God” means “I am God who can do anything.” When the Lord spoke to Abram when he was 99 years old, and Sarai was 89 years old (they were too old to have a baby.) God made Isaac’s birth happen. The Lord told Abram to walk with him by faith. This means that Abraham should live in the right way. He should do what God wants. So then God would always be with him and Abraham would know it. Abraham would do whatever God wanted.

Abraham, The Father of Many Nations Genesis 17:4-5 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. The name Abraham means “father (ancestor) of a multitude of nations.” Covenant means a binding agreement between God and man. It is God’s promise.

5. Peter, A Stone John 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Simeon is Hebrew name. Simon is Greek name. Peter, Greek name, means “A rock.” Cephas means “A rock.” Peter was a name given later by Jesus.
