2. The Tower of London is a bulding that serves formerly defensive functions and the palace functions. It also served as a prison. The last ruler of England who used it for defence purposes was Jacob 1. The Tower was created by William the Conqueror.

3. The construction of the tower was taken after the fire of the Palace of Westminster in 1834. Inauguration of the openning ceremony took place on 31 of May in 1859. The clock is the largest clock in Britain.

4. The St.Paul’s Cathedral in London is located in central London. Construction took place from 1675 to 1710. Inside the Cathedral there are an art galleries.

5. The middle part of the bridge made up of two weighing 1100 tons bascule spans raising bridge within 90 seconds. There is a museum of its history in the tower of the bridge.

6. Westminster Abbey complex till the sixteenth century was a royal residence. The first meeting of the English Parliament was held in 1265. From the time of William the Conqueror crowned kings of the country were using coronation throne from 1307.

7. Since 1837 it is the seat of British monarchs and the largest royal palace in the world. In 1703 the palace was the residence of the Duke of Buckingham. In 1762 King George 3 of England took possession of the palace, which was converted to his private residence.

8. Hyde Park is located in the area of 2.5km². Hyde Park was created by Henryk VIII in 1536. The bigger part of the objects in the Park was designed in 20s of the nineteenth century by Decimus Burton.

9. Tate Modern Gallery is located in the town on the Thames in former Bankside Power Station and it is now a national museum of contemporary art in Britain.

10. The British Museum was founded in 1753 under the Act of the British Parliament. Originally there were exhibited collections of Sir Hans Sloane. today there are exhibits from prehistoric times to the present day of human civilization.

11. London Eye is located on the Thames. Built to celebrate the end of the twentieth century. London Eye is the largest wheel in the world. London Eye can carry up to 800 visitors at the same time.
