2. PURPOSE OF THIS MEETING  Communicate About The I-680 Corridor Study  Describe Background and Existing Conditions  Suggest Different Types of Improvements  Obtain Input from the Local Community to Incorporate into the Study 2

3. I-680 CORRIDOR BACKGROUND  I-680 from US 101 to Alameda County was constructed in 1970’s.  No significant upgrades since original construction.  Congestion and operational issues have increased over many years. 3

4. TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT Existing Conditions: Bottlenecks  AM Northbound between Capitol and Alum Rock  PM Southbound between Berryessa and McKee 4

5. TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT Existing Conditions: Travel Speed  AM Northbound less than 35 mph between 101 and Berryessa Rd.  PM Southbound less than 35 mph between Jacklin and McKee Rd. 5

6. CORRIDOR STUDY DEVELOPMENT The I-680 Corridor Study Will Consider A Wide Range of Potential Improvements:  Highway Improvements  Local Street and Multi-Modal Improvements  Off-Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements  Transit Upgrades  Soundwalls 6

7. SCHEDULE  September: Obtain Public Input and Finalize Potential Improvement List  October: Evaluate and Rank Potential Improvements and Prepare Draft Corridor Study  November/December: Review of Draft Corridor Study by Caltrans, Cities and County  January/February 2016: Final Corridor Study 7
