5 IST – Key facts/Estonia 52 per cent of the population (aged 6-74 years) are Internet users 30 per cent of the households have a computer at home, 75 per cent of home computers are connected to the Internet All Estonian schools are connected to the Internet There are over 700 Public Internet Access Points in Estonia, 51 per 100 000 people (one of the highest numbers in Europe) The number of Estonian websites surpassed one million already in 2001 Income tax declarations can be made electronically via Internet Expenditures made by the government can be followed on the Internet in real-time Cabinet meetings have been changed to paperless sessions using a web-based document system 68 per cent of Estonian Internet users conduct their everyday banking via Internet 89 per cent of the population are mobile phone subscribers Estonia is completely covered by digital mobile phone networks 5

6 Main positions of work plan Main positions of work plan Basic directions of the project development: A/ Formation and development of the basic Internet pages of the project (DONE) in 3 languages ( Estonian, English,Russian): (DONE) - main aims of the project and basic information - information about Inforing AS and IDC ( partly DONE and in development) B/ Development of eJob Exchange for Baltic States ( for student and Youth) within the framework of the project : ( partly DONE and in development) - free-of-charge access for registration and viewing information - simplicity of registration of resumes and vacancies - opportunity of replacement and updating information by users - automatic removal of information FIVE LANGUAGES - automatic translation of information into FIVE LANGUAGES (DONE) C/ Issue of the project `s brochure (DONE) and Journal nr.3 : - main information, articles, information about conferences, workshops D/ Organization of workshop in Tallinn, June, 2006 E/ Participation in conferences and workshops (2004-2007) 6

8 Plan of IDC development Plan of IDC development (2) 6/ Advertising and meetings: -Mailing of booklets, posters and sending e-mails with information about the IDC and eJob Exchange in Estonian schools, special colleges and institutes, organization of meetings 7/ Creation of a special additional program: - Consulting and registration of documents confirming qualification of employee simultaneously with a resume registration (diplomas, certificates and educational documents corresponding to international and European requirements) 8/ European laws: - Creation in frameworks of the project Internet pages of a special info-block about requirements of European Community laws concerning employment and education 8

9 Workshops in Tallinn (Estonia) *1 Workshops in Tallinn (Estonia) *1 9 First workshop was hosted by Inforing AS in co-operation with the sponsor of the IST4Balt project EDNES association, it took place 20.05.2005 - The workshop was organized in the IDC project centre together with Virest Prof company (Estonia) - 15 participants from Estonia - SME representatives and students - Information about IST4Balt project - New methods of work on Internet for SMEs representatives, - Information about possibilities of eJob Exchange
