6 1.2:Projects to be “Accelerated” Project Name Implementing Agent Cedeberg Local Municipality Citrusdal WWTW Problem Co-funding Impact on project Phase 2 cannot start due to lack of funds from the WSA to co- fund the project Action Plan by DWA DWS NWRI is communicating with the Regional office to top up the funding Action Plan by IA WSA is engaging DWS NWRI for the top up funds as the WSA is not in a state to secure funds from financial institutions Completion date original date:_October 2015 revised date March 2017_____________________ Project Name Implementing Agent Stellenbosch Local Municipality Stellenbosch WWTW Problem Plant is 100 years old and has exceeded design capacity. WWTW discharge untreated sewer to the river and polluting the river Impact on project Early completion of the upgrade is essential as the municipality may be prosecuted for polluting the water resource Action Plan by DWA Project has been approved by DWS but more funds need to be brought forward to fastrack the project Action Plan by IA PSP employed by the WSA has finalised the designs and on tender. The planned appointment of the contractor is Sept 14 Re-allocation To be determined after the appointment of the contractor Completion date original date:_June 2018 revised date None at the present_____________________

The IRS is also dependent on the finalisation of the boreholes Impact on project Planned date for the finalisation of the study cannot be achieved Action Plan by DWA Budget relocation from projects that are facing challenges Action Plan by IA Procurement of the second contract Completion date Planned completion was June 2014. Revised date June 2015 Project Name Implementing Agent Kannaland Local Municipality Calitzdorp & Ladismith WWTW Problem Plants for the municipality are not functioning properly require upgrades Impact on project Directives has been issued for non compliance to the WSA Action Plan by DWA Approval of the study upon completion by the PSP appointed by the WSA Action Plan by IA Manage the appointed PSP so that the study is completed on time Re-allocation None Completion date original date:_June 2018 revised date None at the present_____________________

13 3.2 Projects to be “Accelerated” Project Name Implementing Agent Hessequa Municipality Replacement of bulk water meters Problem The appointment of a Consulting Engineer to manage the project, is currently a problem Impact on project Project will be behind the program and might contribute to March spike Action Plan by DWA DWA team engaged with the Municipality to speed up the process Action Plan by IA Appoint a consultant on the DWS database of approved Consulting Engineers to fast track implementation of the project. 14 3.3 ACIP Project key issues/challenges ProjectIssue /ChallengeAction plan to resolve Need for assistance or escalation Refurbishment of Albertina WWTW - Phase 1 Hessequa LM requested to make use of Neil Lyners & Associates for the implementation of an ACIP funded project in terms of section 32 of the MFMA, Municipal Supply Chain Management Regulations (DWS PSP) Forwarded the approval letter to HO office in order to get way forward.
