3  Das Capital: The second National Festival of the Finance & Investment Cell will feature events such as quizzes, simulation games, paper presentations and debates. The festival saw participation of numerous colleges from across India in its first edition last year.  DreaMerger: This game replicates the competition for expansion and dominance in the corporate world through mergers and acquisitions. More than 80 teams from across Delhi took part in the event in 2008 as well as this year. Finalists present their ‘dream merger’ to a judging panel.  Marketing Game: This game gave the participants the opportunity to create and market their own, unique, non-existing product based on the 4 P Approach.  Vega:The journal of the Finance & Investments Cell, will feature the best contributions made in the Inter College Paper Writing Competition. It will also analytically delve on the most important financial events in the year gone by as well as academic contributions made in the field of finance. Articles written to us from noted economists and executive officers of financial institutions will also be included. This Journal will be widely circulated amongst students, participants, faculty, sponsors and alumni of College.

4  Internal Discussions: It is an interactive session amongst the students in an attempt to capture the financial concepts and events across the world which classrooms fail to bring up.  Talks Seminars and Discussions: Eminent personals of the financial and academic arena are invited to lead discussions on finance and investment with the aim of raising financial awareness amongst students.  Mutual Fund Research: An initiative to understand the analysis of mutual funds with the aim of investing in them in the near future  Financial Literacy Drive: The Finance and Investment Cell has initiated a drive to widen the financial knowledge of the college workers through seminars and interactive sessions and thereby helping them take informed decisions in their future financial needs.  Entrepreneurship Cell: Recently founded, it aims to hold talks, discussions and workshops on entrepreneurship, especially at the collegiate level.  WTF: The fortnightly newsletter of the F&IC, it features articles from students aiming to put forth financial concepts in a lighter vein.

5  The two day national festival of the Finance & Investment Cell will be held on the 6 th and 7 th of February 2010.  Das Capital will see the participation of teams form a multitude of colleges across India including an assured 20 colleges from Delhi.  Following are the key events of the festival: Panel Discussion StalwarZ F&IC 15 Corporate Debate Finatic

6  The inaugural event of Das Capital will bring forth an intense discussion amongst distinguished panel members with the active participation of the students.  Panel members will comprise of eminent personalities from the financial, educational and corporate arena.

7  Finatic is the financial quiz of the Finance and Investment Cell. Teams of three will engage in showcasing their A-Z knowledge on finance.  This widely participated event aims to increase the financial awareness amongst students.  The preliminary round is an elimination round in which the teams will be required to answer multiple-choice or fill-in the blank type questions.. The best scoring 6 teams will qualify to the finals and will then be subjected to rounds of innovative, audio-visual and multidimensional quizzing.

8  This event aims at bringing forth the fiercest of discussions of the corporate world to our college. The intensity of the nature of the event coupled with the corporate issues discussed makes Corporate Debate a very popular event.  The two round event aims at testing the members of the two member teams on their analytical and presentational skills.  In the first round, the participants in groups of three will discuss finance-related topics. The finals will be in the form of a Board Rom Simulation-each finalist will be the Director of a particular company, aiming to achieve a particular objective.  Participation will be on an individual basis.

9  A unique simulation game involving a perfect blend of index derivates and stock trading. The event will be held in two rounds.  In the first round the 3-member teams will be tested on their knowledge of primitive concepts regarding the stock market.  20 teams will then qualify to the final round where they receive a capital of Rs. 10,00,000 to trade on the simulated exchange, purely driven by demand and supply. The derivatives are traded on a virtual 15 stock index, F&IC 15. The team with the highest portfolio value will win the game.

10  A simulation game that depicts the cut-throat competition for expansion and dominance in the corporate world.  The competition shall be held in two rounds. In the first round teams will be tested on their knowledge of mergers and acquisitions.  Teams with the most scores will qualify to the final round where each team will be assigned a USD 5 billion company. This six stage round will see the teams amidst 25 acquirable companies. Once acquired these companies will pose various advantages and disadvantages to the parent company. Teams must now struggle to increase their valuation through mergers and acquisitions. The teams can meet all their financial needs through IPOs, Disinvestments and Debt. The team with the highest valuation at the end will be declared the winner.
