File Folders Lots of you lose your stuff. Every class has its own bin. Inside that bin, is a file folder for each student in the class. ◦ This is where you’ll store stuff that we’ll need for class at another time. ◦ If you want to put your notebook back there, you are welcome too. In the back of the bin, is a folder with a packet of paper and 18 pencils. ◦ When the paper and pencils are gone, you are out for the month.

History of DNA We haven’t really talked yet about where this all originated from. ◦ Annnnddd, it’s sorta on your test on Friday. So we’re going to begin by watching a short video clip. As you watch, write down the different names of the people involved. With the discovery of DNA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf0YXn AFBs8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf0YXn AFBs8

We did not know much about DNA until Rosalin Franklin took an x-ray picture inside the cell nucleus:

Scientists James Watson and Francis Crick made the double-helix model of DNA that explained how DNA could work.

The number of chromosomes that each species has is different. Humans have 46 chromosomes. Flies have 8 chromosomes.
