Key Administrative Settings 1. Student email is filtered. Teachers email is NOT 2. All Gaggle functions are limited to the school 3. Digital Lockers Max = 200MB 4. Maximum # of Recipients / Email = 35 5. Language Translation is ON 6. The Filter only filters English and Spanish 7. 1 st Defense: Students retrieve own passwords!

Administrative Settings 8. Teachers are set as “enhanced teachers” 9. Principal is the “school master” 10. Support Admin are “school administrators” 11. SITS and STC’s are “school administrators” 12. Gaggle Mail may be forwarded to GroupWise 13. Schools may tighten “rules” higher than district's

Administrative Settings 14. Schools may add to “Blocked Word List” – via the school administrator(s) – or forward words to raf.waites@abcusd.k12.ca.usraf.waites@abcusd.k12.ca.us 15. Digital Lockers may cause bandwidth issues 16. Homework boxes named by assignment / teacher 17. Dial “2help” on any district phone for direct Gaggle assistance from Raf or David 18. Gaggle interacts with cell phones as a primary device

Default School Administrators School Administrators by grade Level By default, these administrators will: receive all flagged messages HMS receive emergency phones call HMS Will facilitate disciplinary actions w/ students Due Sept 7 – Default Admin Survey, Raf Waites: Administrator names Grade level assignments Mailbox for each administrator

Blocked Emails Gaggle Human Monitoring 1 st Offense Student Notified (warning) 2 nd Offense Student Notified and Admin Notified (discipline) 3 rd Offense Student Notified and Admin Notified (discipline and account suspended)

Initial Student Roll-out Acceptable Use Policy is KEY 1. Homeroom provides AUPs to students 2. Student returns AUP to homeroom teacher 3. Homeroom teacher provides Gaggle Activation letter 4. Homeroom teachers provide AUPs to Office 5. Office checks AUP field in Eagle 6. Gaggle Automatically Activates overnight 7. Students Log-in Following Day: Username: first_last@myabcusd.orgfirst_last@myabcusd.org Password: yyyymmdd (student’s birth date) 8. Student Changes Password Immediately 9. Student enters personal email for PW reset functions

School office checks AUP field in Eagle 5. Gaggle automatically activated overnight 6. Students may Log-in following day using: Username: first_last@myabcusd.orgfirst_last@myabcusd.org Password: yyyymmdd (student’s birth date) 7. Student changes password immediately 8. Student provides personal email for reset functions
