3  Let me firstly tell you who I am, and where I came from.

4 MY TIMELINE

5 “ ” DECEMBER 2013 Chapter 1: The start of a career Started work in a busy pub in London; saving and considering Accountancy.

6 “ ” APRIL 2014 Chapter 2: The taste of success Bought a few courses regarding Finance, Business and Accountancy

7 “ ” AUGUST 2014 Chapter 3: The start of something wonderful. Decided to start the AAT Accountancy Course, Introduced to All Inclusive

8 “ ” SEPTEMBER 2014 Chapter 4: Opportunity of a lifetime. All inclusive helped me obtain an interview with Croydon Council; passed the interview and started the apprenticeship at Croydon. Started AAT Level 2.

9 “ ” NOVEMBER 2014 Chapter 5: Job and Education; Ying and Yang The modules were so much easier to understand due to learning through the Apprenticeship.

10 “ ” MARCH 2015 Chapter 6: On to better things. Completed AAT level 2 in 6 months; Started AAT level 3

11 “ ” SEPTEMBER 2015 Chapter 7: End of a glorious era. Contract is ending with Croydon Council; substantial knowledge gained; much more prospects and oppotunities

12 “BEING AN APPRENTICE WHILST LEARNING ENABLED ME TO APPRECIATE AND APPLY WHAT I LEARNT INTO PRACTICE.” Benefits of AAT  Gateway into Chartered Accounting.  Opens up new opportunities and career pathways.  Well respected and professional recognition after completion(MAAT)  The higher the level, the more you can potentially earn. Benefits of Apprenticeships  Learning more practical accountancy.  Have a feel for an fantastic career.  Management will help you when necessary.  Learn and earn.  Possibility of contract extension.

13 A FEW POINTS OF ADVICE: Be committed Be punctual Always be enthusiastic and ask for more tasks if you have completed what has been entrusted to you. Always network Help is always there. Utilise it. Always improve what you have. Make a mention of all of the tasks and skills that you have learnt, along with the AAT modules that you have competed. AND BE CONSISTENT!
