5 Public Institutions Out of State  Each State has a large Public Institution which is considered the State’s Flagship school. (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign)  Selective Admissions  Cost  Large research schools  Each State has a University System with a variety of schools with a varying of admissions  Least Selective to Highly Selective  Cost  Variety of sizes

7 Private Schools  Liberal Arts Colleges

8 Highly Selective Schools  Typically take less then 25% od applicants and sometimes as low as 6% of students that apply.  Expectation is that student’s that get admitted have taken the most rigorous courses at their school and excelled at them.  The average ACT is above a 30.  These are what we consider DREAM schools even for the best students.
