Construction Quality and Speed Working Group NESCC Sponsored working group that will focus on: –Evaluating new technologies for decreasing construction time and costs while improving quality – panel of experts with periodic meetings –Identifying potential end users of the task group products, and articulating the suggested applications and extent of the applications for these end users. –Evaluating impact on codes and standards – roadmap feedback to NESCC –Developing feedstock for research organizations.

Construction Quality and Speed Improvement Technologies Scope and Objectives of Task Group This task group will be focused on building techniques and materials which improve the speed and quality of construction and potentially lower costs. This will be a standing study group which would assess the efficiency benefits of a specific technology, determine what codes and standards would be necessary for regulatory acceptance and then develop a research plan to accomplish the code change.

12 12 © 2012 Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. All rights reserved. Construction Quality and Speed Improvement Technologies Expected Results of Task Group The task group products would be the development of a project proposal(s) for technological research needed for key code changes that would be delivered to the appropriate SDO(s). This task group would also propose discussions for the NESCC meeting agendas once discussions are mature for a given technology.
