3 OECD National Perspectives on adaptation No comprehensive view of national approaches Large variety of actions related to adaptation –Impact and Vulnerability Assessments –Adaptation Strategies –Awareness raising, stakeholder involvement and capacity building

4 OECD Key insights on national approaches Adaptation is a multi-faceted process Stakeholder involvement and co- operation are key elements of adaptation strategies The right types –and combination- of assessments are needed to move into actions

5 OECD Key Insights on national approaches (II) Adapting to current impacts is an important need, but not the only one Mainstreaming involves more than integration of adaptation in sectoral planning Countries are different, but can share knowledge, technologies and tools
