1 Objective: You will utilize drawing techniques and compositional strategies in order to create a still life from observation. DRILL: 1. Get your sketchbook. 2. Write all of the artworks that you have completed this year: List on next slide. 3. Circle a minimum of 2 to put in the Art Show that is next week- Thursday, April 19 th. Attendance is required. Excused with parent note only. 4. Still life critique will be next Tuesday.

3 1. Pick 2 artworks for Art Show. 2. Set up still life. 3. Stay focused. 4. Draw what you see. = Observational Drawing 5. We will discuss Emphasis again tomorrow. 6. Background lesson on Thursday.

4 Objective: You will utilize photography and filing in order to document and organize your artwork and prepare for the Art Show. DRILL: 1. Get your sketchbook or a piece of paper. 2. List all of the artworks that you made that are finished that you could put in the art show. 3. The Art Show is next week- Thursday, April 19th. Attendance is required. Excused with parent note only. 10 artworks required. Altered book= 2. 4. What do you have to finish? 5. Grade on Tuesday - 18 works photographed- 6 concentration pieces complete and filed.

Finish 6 concentration pieces. 5. Write artist statement to go with your art show pieces. 6. 8 Objective: You will utilize observational drawing and inspiration from artists in order to create 2 self-portrait artworks. DRILL: 1. Get your sketchbook or a piece of paper. 2. List all of the completed artworks that you made this year in Fine Arts. 2. Which 3 do you want to display in the Art Show? (List on next slide) 3. The Art Show is next week- Thursday, April 19th. Attendance is required. Excused with parent note only.

10 1. Work on your 2 portrait drawings. 2. One must be pencil and from observation of yourself using a mirror. 3. The other must be in the style of an artist. Research the artist’s style. How will you imitate their style? You may look at the photograph that you took. Do not transfer. Draw by looking at it.
