4 Hiring policy Home Home  When recruiting new employees or promoting exiting personnel, organisations need to establish a positive hiring policy which does not conflict with national employment law. It is essential to look at the background of the employee.  Previous employment records  Criminal records  Check references  Set assessment tasks  Many organisations have a probation period.  For new personnel  When promoting internal staff

5 Separation of dutiesHomeHome To ensure that there is not complete reliance on one person to maintain the overall system security of an organisation, a separation of duties is often setup p. this involves having many team members who each have one critical duty to manage, and a deputy who as have sufficient knowledge to cover in case of absents or departure.

6 Disciplinary and investigation procedures HomeHome  Infringement by an employee and partner has to be dealt with fair, confidential and legal way ensuring they stick to disciplinary procedures.  There is always a change that the suspected employee might not be the person that actually committed the infringement.  Commonly taken steps with an infringement occurs include  Suspension (with pay)  An independent party are brought in to investigate the matter fairly and impartially  In the event of a criminal matter the police are called

7 Training and communication HomeHome  All staff should receive the necessary training to do their jobs and it is only reasonable that the employer provides this.  Regular communication with staff should be maintained to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities.  This will ultimately make the company more effective and efficient
