6 Library Catalogue Dedicated terminals in libraries Can be searched online at library.kcl.ac.uk Can request books from other KCL libraries Can reserve books out on loan to other people Can renew your books online Covers all KCL libraries, E-books and ejournals

7 Books Search for on catalogue using authors surname and key words from title Find out classmark and go to appropriate place on shelves Mostly 4-week loans at the IoP – fines = 10p a day Can borrow up to 20 books at a time Library is open 08:30-21:00 through the week, 09:30- 17:30 on Saturday, 11:00-18:00 on Sunday

8 Journals KCL e-only now but still substantial hard-copy collections at the WEC and IoP libraries Journals not for borrowing but you can request articles via the library catalogue >10,000 ejournals. Can be searched for on the catalogued. Look for SFX@Kings link – this should connect to the journal web site Might need password for off-site access SFX@Kings embedded in databases – can go directly to articles if full-text is available

9 Databases Accessible via OneSpace – onespace.kcl.ac.uk Click on Databases link on the right-hand side Alphabetical list or can be searched for by name PsycInfo principal database for mental health Web of Science and other databases also available Contains links to full-text but NOT full-text themselves Might need to log in via Shibboleth – use your KCL username and password

10 E books Over 150,000 available All on Library Catalogue – can be searched for in exactly the same way as books Option to limit search to eresources Might need to log-in via Shibboleth
