2 Are you up for an Adventure? Are your students becoming less engaged in activities? Behavior issues rising? Lack of equipment becoming an everyday annoyance?

3 Goal The goal of the Adventure Education Unit is to inspire leadership qualities in high school students by developing and offering a unit that address the needs of all students at. The skills developed through our units will assist students in the studies and in their daily lives by promoting confidence, problem solving skills, self efficacy and self- esteem.

4 Skills to be taught include: Orienteering Team Building Trust, Partner, and Group Instruction Problem Solving Creative Thinking Experiential Learning Community Interaction

5 What is needed Rock wall Area or portion of gym to install the Rock wall or if a auxiliary gym is available Safety equipment – harness, helmets, Carabiners & Crampons, accessories. Rope Netting or webs Certified instructor

7 Mats $150.00 Folding Mat (6) (Rubber Flooring Inc) * or use mats we already have. Prevents students from climbing unsupervised Can be used for other adventure activities Bouldering Mat- helps prevent injuries.

8 Harness & Helmet HarnessHelmet $75.00/harness. Estimate 4 = $300.00 $60.00/ helmet. Estimate 4 needed = $240.00

9 Activity book & App Application Software – students to track progress $4.99 Adventure ed. Book – filled with a variety of adventure activities Costs $30.00/book

10 Other activities Low Rope Course Usually involving "ropes" at a maximum height of 3 feet off the ground. Develops a greater level of communication, trust building, addresses gender and cultural issues and improves leadership skills using physical and mental challenges involving the entire group.

12 Conclusion Adventure education is fun, new, and exciting. It will get the best out of your students Fitness assessment would be more accurate Students would engage in more team oriented activities Most of all; students will want to engage in these activities with excitement!
