Johann Sebastian Bach born died 1750 Nationality: German Musical Era: Baroque Best known compositions include: “Brandenburg Concertos,” “The Well-Tempered Clavier,” “Goldberg Variations,” & “St. Matthew Passion” German organist and composer; is considered to be one of the greatest creators of Western cultural music Baroque composer He was not always appreciated during his own lifetime He had 20 children, 4 of whom became composers like their father Toccata and Fugue in D minor Suite nº 3

3 George F. Handel born 1685 died 1759 Nationality: German-English Musical Era: Baroque
Composer of the Baroque period He wrote the oratorio “Messiah”, which includes the “Hallelujah Chorus” Though German, was given a state funeral and buried in the Poet’s Corner of Westminster Abbey in London, England. He also wrote “Water Music” and “Royal Fireworks Music” The British called him “Great Bear” Although he was blind by the time he was 65, he continued to play the organ and compose music until his death at 74 Hallelujah Chorus
