What is this question asking you to do? It is asking you to challenge each aspect of the statement, giving a balanced treatment of each in terms of argument and supporting exemplification, and provide a balanced view on the statement.

8 How to write an Introduction
A good start to the answer is crucial. Good introductions succinctly point the way ahead. It is important that you tackle the question head on. Do not deliver a pre-prepared answer regardless of the question.

9 Introduction Mobile phones are important communication devices, however many people find them to be irritating. This essay will explore whether mobile phones are offensive or not. This introduction is succinct. Show you have understood the question. It refers to both sides of the argument.

10 Paragraph 1 Mobile phones have become a crucial part of modern day living. It is estimated that in Britain today the majority of people own a mobile phone. Therefore It could be argued that people believe that the mobile phone is an essential tool for everyday life. Despite this, many critics of the mobile phone believe them to be a nuisance and can be disruptive. For example, in an educational setting they disrupt lessons if they have not been switched off. To this end, some may argue that phones are offensive. (This is what we call a 'mini conclusion ' which refers back to the question- use this in every paragraph)

11 Conclusions Conclusions should be succinct. Shown by the following:
In conclusion, although mobile phones can be very disruptive and offensive at times, they can help to make our lives easier . Your conclusion should not be a wordy repetition of what has gone before.
