2. TWO MAIN PROBLEMS: 1.People have used the bible to justify horrible behavior. 2.People have used the Bible to attack Christianity.

3. OLD TESTAMENT: “You shall not give up to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you. He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.” - Deuteronomy 23:15-16

4. OLD TESTAMENT: "Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper's possession.” - Exodus 21:16

5. OLD TESTAMENT: "An owner who hits a male or female slave in the eye and destroys it must let the slave go free to compensate for the eye.” - Exodus 21:26

6. NEW TESTAMENT: We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine”. - 1 Timothy 1:9-10

7. NEW TESTAMENT: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” - Galatians 3:28

8. NEW TESTAMENT: “Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place." - John 18:36

9. NEW TESTAMENT: “…no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a fellow man and as a brother in the Lord.” - Philemon 1:16
