Need #3 – Gift Oriented Ministry

 What do we mean by “ministry”?  Who is a minister?  What should we each be doing?

 Revelation 1:6 -- … and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

 John 15:5 -- I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

 1 Cor. 12:4-15  Variety of gifts/one Spirit  Variety of ministries/one Lord  Each one has a manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.  Wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, tongues, etc.  Spirit distributes to EACH ONE just as He wills.  All members working together.

 Titus 3:14 – Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.

 Hebrews 10:24 -- and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds….

 2 Corinthians 5:10 -- For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

 Colossians 4:17 -- Say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

 Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.

 “For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”
