1 School of Nursing Reaccreditation November 9-11, 2009 Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, master’s and the doctorate in nursing practice programs. Voluntary process Goal: improve and enhance educational programs for professional nursing students.

2 Reaccreditation includes: Preparation of self study document Gathering of supporting documentation Site visit by review team that includes observation of classes and clinicals, review of supporting documentation, meeting with key campus leaders, community partners and SON faculty/staff and students

3 Your role in reaccreditation Be present – greet visitors, attend sessions if requested Be familiar with the Essentials of Master’s Education for Advanced Practice Nursing and other standards Be prepared to share your experience in the nursing program

10 Expected Student Learning Outcomes for Master’s Graduates Together the Essentials and additional standards guide the expected outcomes for the master’s program. Content and clinicals in the master’s program are organized to achieve student learning outcomes in four areas.
