2 Skills for Life Support Programme Aim For participants to: identify the specific LLN needed by their learners so that they can embed the teaching of those skills into their schemes of work / assessment plans. 2

3 Skills for Life Support Programme Learning objectives By the end of the module, you will be able to: describe the importance of identifying underpinning LLN for embedding develop appropriate and relevant documentation for identifying underpinning LLN create your own embedded scheme of work/assessment plan understand how this process can support learners reflect on and action plan next steps. 3

5 Skills for Life Support Programme Getting started 5 Requirements of the vocational or other course Literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) skills development is informed by: specific LLN skills (including level) needed by learners to succeed on the course your knowledge of the aspects of the course learners typically find difficult due to insecure LLN skills your knowledge of the LLN levels of learners identified through the initial assessment process.
