8 Same as Junior Report Card Page 1 Percentage Grades Same basic set-up with the Core subjects up front but….. Report includes class average in each area for each term Report includes marks from all three terms Dr. Jennifer Barnett

9 Page 2 The content subjects are on the second page just like the junior report card. Social Studies has been replaced by History and Geography. Health & Phys.Ed and The Arts are the same There are two magic boxes just like the Junior Report Card Similar to the first page, class averages and all three terms are present Same as the Junior Page 3 is exactly the same. 10 Student Task  Watch while I create a comment and put it in the Junior report card. Follow along on the handout while I walk you through it  Now, it’s your turn!  Your Task:  Make level 1, 2, 3, and 4 Comments for each subject.  Enter these into the report card  At the end, go to the report card view and take a look – you may have to edit if some are too long.  Using the handout I give you, complete the task. Slowly follow my directions step by step and you should be fine.  If you run into a difficulty 1) ask a friend & 2) ask me. Dr. Jennifer Barnett

11 Bell Work – Day Two 1. Open the Unit Planner. Click on the L for library. Click on Browse Teacher Companions 2. Find the Special Education Companion in the bottom left corner 3. Click on Learning Accommodations 4. On the left there is a blue box with an exceptionality in it – click on the box to see the list of exceptionalities 5. Move the cursor to Learning Disability – click 6. Click Characteristics – read the right 7. Click Motivation under Teaching Strategies and Suggestions – read the right 8. Click Note Making under Specific Skill Strategies – read the right 9. Click Assessment Accommodations – read the right 10. On the bottom right click on Special Ed Introduction (to get back to previous screen, click on Learning Accommodations). Explore To exit – click done, then exit – let it shut down Dr. Jennifer Barnett

12 What happens on a Report Card?  The grade in this subject / strand reflects the accommodations / modifications as outlined in the IEP.  If in the Comment View, and you click on IEP box – program will put in “The marks for Subject are based on the achievement of expectations in the IEP, which vary from the Grade X expectations.” Dr. Jennifer Barnett
