4  Not all accountants are CPAs!  A CPA is a person who has been certified by the state.  CPAs bound to higher levels of education, examination, experience and ethics.

7  Get a Bachelor’s degree or higher  Complete the college hour requirements ◦ 150 total hours ◦ 76 upper division hours ◦ 30 accounting hours ◦ 9 business elective hours ◦ One class in external auditing  Pass all 4 sections of the CPA Exam  Pass the Professional Ethics Exam  Attain one year of work under a CPA
