2 2 Responsibilities u ACC (and its CERN partners) will provide u DCS H/W Infrastructure u Back-End System u Common Services u Interface to TRG, DAQ, HLT, LHC via ECS u S/W Infrastructure for Detector Applications u Detectors will provide u Detector Sub-System Devices and Cabling u Detector Specific Networking (Ethernet switches) u Detector Applications for each Sub-System u Detector Specific Services u Integration of all Detector Sub-Systems to a full Detector Control System u Interface to the Alice Detector Control System layer

3 3 ACC will provide: DCS H/W infrastructure u DCS Racks in CR3 u 1 for Back-end PC’s u 1 for ELMB power u 6 for Front-end (detector) PC’s u Network u DCS network ports in all racks with DCS computers & devices u detectors to specify requirements: “rack content meetings” u Computers u Back-end: prototype installation exists u Front-end: detectors to specify requirements: ACC will propose u PCI interfaces: detectors to specify requirements: ACC will propose u Peripherals u Printers, displays, etc
